[Update 25 Oct 2024] A new variant of this deck involves the introduction of several FILM-type cards from the Green Uta Starter Deck [ST-16]<\/a>. These cards typically force opponents to commit additional resources for the execution of their gameplan.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ever since the introduction of its titular card in the eponymous Starter Deck Side Uta [ST-11], the Green Uta deck has seen much success in ONE PIECE Card Game tournaments the world over. Most recently, Italian player Gianluca Mercuriali used a Green Uta deck to take top spot at the Milan Regional. While it was the deck’s first-ever tournament W, this deck had been consistently placing in the top 10 in the months leading up to Mercuriali’s triumph.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In reality, it isn’t the Leader card after whom this deck is named that’s the deck’s most important card. That honor instead belongs to the Dracule Mihawk card from the Zoro & Sanji [ST-12] Starter Deck. When Zoro & Sanji [ST-12] was launched, the introduction of the Mihawk card provided the deck with tremendous versatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When Mihawk is played, the player gets the opportunity to play a Muggy Kingdom-type or Slash-attribute Character apart from any other Mihawk card. That card must also have a cost of 4 or less from the hand and will enter play in a rested state. By doing so at opportune moments, the player can easily dictate the tempo of the game. Mihawk pairs well with the Brook card from Paramount War [OP-02] because Brook can also be used to control the pace of play.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Two other cards that are crucial to the deck’s strategy are Nami from Paramount War [OP-02], and Eustass Kid from Romance Dawn [OP-01]. Kid boasts a power of 8000, a cost of 8, and the ability to redirect all attacks targeted at the player’s other Characters to itself. Nami is the deck’s draw engine; that card is mainly used to obtain important FILM-type cards from the deck\u2014of which there are many. This effect dovetails nicely with Uta’s Leader effect which has the player reveal 1 card from the top of the deck and add a FILM-type card to the hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mulliganing with this deck doesn’t depend on whether the player goes first or second. Instead, it depends on the Leader card of the opponent’s deck. If the opponent is playing a Black Moria deck<\/a>, mulliganing should be for Mihawk. In all other cases, Kid should be prioritized when mulliganing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The minimum cost of all the cards in a Green Uta deck is 36,630 JPY (~US$235).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
