New Balance and DTLR are no strangers to collaborations with each other. Previous joint-efforts span silhouettes such as the 9060 in “Cyan Burst”<\/a> and “Fire Sign”<\/a>, the 990v4 in “Festive”<\/a> and \u201cWild Style 2.0\u201d<\/a>, the 990v3 in \u201cGR3YSCALE\u201d<\/a>, and the 2002R in \u201cLovers Only”<\/a>. This time, they’re back again with another iteration of the 2002R in “Purple Noir”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DTLR-exclusive pair boasts a sophisticated blend of materials and colors. Luxurious Black suede and soft Grey nubuck combine with a durable Grey mesh base for a visually interesting and sturdy construction. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

But what stands out the most are the Purple Noir accents, reminiscent of the iconic “Eggplant” colorway seen on Nike sneakers like the LeBron 4 \u201cEggplant\u201d<\/a>. These iridescent purple highlights grace the tongue, midfoot, and heel overlay, lending the shoe its moniker.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Neon green accents, lining the tongue, vamp, and the “2002R” branding on the side, add another layer of boldness. The design is finished off with a clean white foam midsole featuring neon green near the heel and a contrasting Grey rubber outsole for durability and traction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The New Balance 2002R “Purple Noir” drops exclusively at DTLR brick-and-click stores on 17 May 2024. It will be available in adult sizing for US$165, grade school sizing for US$105, and preschool sizing for US$95.
