[Update 9 Sep 2024] Thus far, only mockups have guided our perception of the Nike Kobe 5 Protro \u201cEggplant\u201d. But now, a first look at the actual pair have surfaced, thanks to @prm.cotd<\/a>. Check them out in the gallery above!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

[Update 10 Jul 2024] The Nike Kobe 5 Protro \u201cEggplant\u201d has been confirmed for release on 8 February 2025. Stay tuned for more images to be unveiled in the coming months!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The same way Kobe Bryant plays in the air, so have his shoes as they continue to fly off the shelves. Since the rejuvenation of the Nike Kobe line in 2022, more colorways are being reintroduced. For one, there’s the incoming “Italian Camo”<\/a> on 9 May, with even special pairs such as the “Mambacita”<\/a> made to commemorate what would have been Gigi Bryant’s 18th birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Somewhere in the pipeline is the titular Nike Kobe 5 Protro \u201cEggplant\u201d. Sporting the LA Lakers’ signature colors, the shoes boast a regal palette of Eggplant, Black, and Metallic Gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Official images haven’t been revealed, but the pair features a rich purple base and bold Metallic Gold accents on key branding elements. Rumors suggest black detailing on the tongue, laces, inner lining, and midsole, all culminating over a purple rubber outsole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There isn’t a firm release date yet but they are projected to arrive in Spring 2025 with an RRP of US$190. Stay tuned for more information and images in the coming months!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
