For 2024’s first edition, three artists at the vanguard of their native countries’ creative scene—China, South Korea, and Singapore—are spotlighted. Each one laying their signatures over an array of Vans footwear and apparel, highlighting the diversity of Asian street culture and Vans’ skateboarding pedigree.

First, Chinese artist Bolin blends tradition and modernity. Using his mastery of ancient Chinese painting techniques, Bolin creates a series of playful illustrations featuring skateboarders with heart-shaped heads. These illustrations adorn Vans’ Classic Authentic, along with a matching shirt and shorts set.

Next is Seoul’s Rarebirth, drawing inspiration from the tenacity of skateboarders. His brainchild, a character named “Deckman,” embodies the spirit of perseverance with the motto: “I’m the only one who can break the wall inside me.” The centerpiece of Rarebirth’s collection is a pair of Old Skools featuring Vans’ hallmark checkerboard print in a bold green and white colorway with contrasting yellow details.

Rounding out the group is Singapore’s Mark SBTG, mastermind behind the SBTG Surplus brand. Injecting his love for punk rock, his pair of Old Skools is imbued with a bold skeletal toe motif, mirrored on bone-embellished apparel.

The first wave of the Asian Artist Collection drops at select Vans stores on 27 April. Thereafter, it will be succeeded by another round of artistic collaborations in October, featuring a fresh lineup of artists!

In other news, check out the ASICS GEL-QUANTUM ZIENTZIA by Kiko Kostadinov.
