[Update 2 May 2024] In the lead-up to Star Wars Day, we’ve been treated to a slew of official images showcasing close-ups of the NMD_R1 and Stan Smith silhouettes from the Star Wars x Nanzuka x adidas collection. [Update 22 Apr 2024] The Star Wars x Nanzuka x adidas collaboration is gaining momentum. The collection welcomes a new Stan Smith silhouette featuring a stormtrooper design slightly above the midsole, with a suede finish for the tongue and heel tab. The silhouette alongside the other two will retail for 20900 JPY (~US$136) respectively.<\/p>\n

Additionally, limited edition T-shirts inspired by R2-D2, Darth Vader, and Stormtroopers will also be available in the drop. The collection is slated to release on 27 April.<\/p>\n

adidas just joined forces with the influential Tokyo art gallery owner, Shinji Nanzuka, for a special footwear collection. This collab brings together the timeless Star Wars universe with Nanzuka’s fresh artistic vision.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The collection features two iconic adidas models: the Superstar XLG and the NMD_R1. The Superstar gets a bold makeover with a pop art C-3PO graphic that offers a sneak peek inside the droid’s inner workings. It’s a cool mix of classic Star Wars and modern art, all on a crisp cream base with black and white accents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NMD_R1 takes a stealthier approach with a sleek all-black design. One look at this shoe and you get a Darth Vader vibe, a subtle nod to the dark side of the Force.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

May the 4th be with you, aka 4 May 2024\u2014that’s when this Star Wars x Nanzuka x adidas collection launches online and in select adidas stores.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To celebrate, Nanzuka’s gallery will also be hosting a special Star Wars exhibition from 26 April to 13 May\u2014perfect for getting your fandom fix. Prices haven’t been announced yet, but keep an eye out on SNKRDUNK Magazine for more info!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
