A Dark-type specialist first introduced as part of the Elite Four in Pok\u00e9mon Gold and Silver, Karen is most remembered today for her polarizing quote on strong, weak, and players’ favorite Pok\u00e9mon. It’s therefore fitting that the name of one of the standout Pok\u00e9mon TCG cards on which she features\u2014Karen’s Conviction\u2014is a likely allusion to her idealistic beliefs in this area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Super Rare (SR) version of this card from Peerless Fighters [S5a] features a Full Art illustration depicting Karen against a multicolored background. The card’s holofoil pairs well with that background, causing the image of Karen herself to further stand out.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Not only does this card get the usual value boost that comes with depictions of female characters; the illustration itself plays up the sex appeal factor. This is done by the use of a bottom-up perspective that brings Karen’s chest and exposed midriff into closer focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This Supporter card is intended to be played as part of a Single Strike deck. By playing it, the player’s Single Strike Pok\u00e9mon’s attacks do 20 more damage to the opponent’s Active Pok\u00e9mon for each Prize card the opponent has taken.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The English version of this card is card 193\/198 of the Chilling Reign expansion set.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A copy of a Karen’s Conviction (Peerless Fighters [S5a] 081\/070) card of SR rarity sells for 9,000 JPY (~US$59).<\/p>\n\n\n
