Introduced as part of the Pok\u00e9mon Legends: Arceus video game, Hisuian Pok\u00e9mon were soon added to the Pok\u00e9mon TCG with some becoming among the most powerful cards around. One such card was the Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR card from the Dark Phantasma [S10a] expansion set\u2014the centerpiece of this offensively-oriented deck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR’s sole attack is Ticking Curse which deals 50 damage multiplied by the number of the player’s Pok\u00e9mon in play which have any damage counters on them. Though this may initially seem “unspectacular but solid”, the true brilliance of the Baneful Fox Pok\u00e9mon lies in its synergy with other cards found in this deck.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The use of Gapejaw Bog, a Stadium card from Time Gazer [S10D], forces both players to place two damage counters onto any Basic Pok\u00e9mon that’s placed onto the Bench. Damage Pump, another card from Dark Phantasma [S10a], allows two damage counters from any single Pok\u00e9mon on the player’s side to be repositioned accordingly. By placing a damage counter on a Pok\u00e9mon which previously didn’t have any, Ticking Curse’s power is augmented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, the Gengar card from Dark Phantasma [S10a] plays an important role in this deck as well. Its Netherworld Gate ability allows it to enter the player’s Bench from the discard pile\u2014but with three damage counters already on it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While this would ordinarily be a drawback, it serves to add another power-up to Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR’s Ticking Curse. With the proper setup, it shouldn’t be too difficult to get Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR to begin to run rampant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The total cost of every card in a Hisuian Zoroark VSTAR deck is at least \u00a53,000 (~US$20).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
