[Update 14 Jun 2024] The New Balance 2002R Mule Protection Pack “Rain Cloud” is set to release on 20 June at 10AM (JST) via New Balance and atmos, with a retail price of 17,380 JPY (~US$111). Additionally, a raffle is currently ongoing via atmos and will end on 19 June at 8:59AM (JST). Good luck copping a pair!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

New Balance have retrofitted their fan-favorite 2002R silhouette as a mule in many occasions in the past<\/a>. In continuance of this practice, the latest arrives dressed in the “Refined Future Pack” aesthetic, derivative of the popular 2021 “Rain Cloud” Protection Pack\u2014the series that truly launched the deconstructed 2002R’s popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fans will recognize the familiar elements: A dark grey base crafted from a combination of mesh and suede, complemented by lighter grey suede panels for a layered effect; the yellowed midsole features the signature red “N-ergy” logo, while an inconspicuous white-stitched outline surrounds the understated grey “N” logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Contrary to its predecessors, this iteration also boasts a laceless fixed tongue, as well as a subtle difference in the suede itself. Compared to the Protection Pack’s texture, the “Refined Future Pack” boasts a smoother, more refined finish.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A release date for the New Balance 2002R Mule “Refined Future Pack” hasn’t been disclosed, so stay tuned for more details and images in the coming weeks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
