[Update 13 Jun 2025] The promotional Simplified Chinese version of this card now sells for a whopping 1,089,300 JPY (~US$7,614) per copy following a recent enormous price spike. However, some are anticipating its value to begin to fall as more of the 1,510 copies to which it’s limited begin to be distributed.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

[Update 13 May 2025] The price of the Mew ex card has recently risen to 38,000 JPY (~US$260) per PSA 10 copy\u2014largely due to the demand for the card due to Mew’s immense popularity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

[Update 22 Aug 2024] This card has now become an important part of the Regidrago VSTAR deck<\/a>. It counteracts hand disruption via Restart, its Ability that allows the player to add cards to the hand when running low. Mew ex also functions as counterplay against several key defensive cards commonly seen in the current metagame via its Genome Hacking attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to Mew’s iconic status within the Pok\u00e9mon franchise, the standout qualities of this card’s illustration combined with its SAR rarity serve to elevate the card’s value. Not many Pok\u00e9mon TCG cards make use of cartoon-like artwork\u2014but USGMEN’s stylistic choice gives this card a gentler, more whimsical vibe befitting the mystical kitten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

First released as part of the Pok\u00e9mon Card 151 [SV2a] expansion as a Double Rare (RR) card, this version of Mew ex sees it take its Shiny form. Although not necessarily the most viable card gameplay-wise, all of the other factors that increase this card’s value more than make up for that fact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
