[Update 20 Aug 2024] As confirmed during a livestream of the Pok\u00e9mon World Championships, Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game Pocket launches on 30 October 2024.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

[Update 5 Aug 2024] Though a release date isn’t yet out, there’s finally an update on Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game Pocket after many long months. At the upcoming Pok\u00e9mon World Championships to be held in Honolulu from 16 to 18 August 2024, those who are badge holders will receive the opportunity to participate in a sneak preview of Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game Pocket.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These badge holders will also receive the opportunity to be the first to open Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game Pocket booster packs\u2014some of which will include cards featuring never-before-seen artwork. <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every year, Pok\u00e9mon fans the world over anticipate Pok\u00e9mon Day on 27 February\u2014the anniversary of the date when the original Pok\u00e9mon Red and Green video games were released in Japan in 1996. Every Pok\u00e9mon Day, major announcements regarding the Pok\u00e9mon video games and Trading Card Game (TCG) are made; this year’s edition was no different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The standout announcement of Pok\u00e9mon Day 2024 was undoubtedly that of the 2025 release of Pok\u00e9mon Legends Z-A, a prequel to Pok\u00e9mon X and Y\u2014the sixth-generation mainline Pok\u00e9mon video games. Pok\u00e9mon Legends Z-A will take place in a past version of Lumiose City, the largest city of the Kalos region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other announcements regarding the Pok\u00e9mon video games included upcoming 7-star Tera Raid battles in Pok\u00e9mon Scarlet and Violet, the introduction of Miraidon, Falinks, and Ceruledge to Pok\u00e9mon UNITE, and two new sync pairs in Pok\u00e9mon Masters EX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the TCG front, there was no news about the physical TCG cards this year. However, that didn’t mean that the Pok\u00e9mon TCG went completely ignored. Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game Pocket, a mobile version of the Pok\u00e9mon TCG, was confirmed for release later in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game Pocket, players may collect all manner of digital versions of Pok\u00e9mon TCG cards, build decks, and play against other real-life players just as they would physical ones. It will also be possible to trade cards with other players; however, this feature is unlikely to be in the game at launch. The game can be regarded as something of a successor to the much-panned Pok\u00e9mon TCG Live.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game Pocket players stand to receive two booster packs upon the first login every day. While unconfirmed, it’s speculated that there’ll be more opportunities to accumulate cards by way of microtransactions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pok\u00e9mon Trading Card Game Pocket will be released on iOS and Android later in 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
