[Update 12 Mar 2024] Fans of the returning silhouette will have to wait a bit longer. The release of the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Jackie Robinson” has been pushed back from 1 April to 15 April 2024. <\/strong><\/p>\n

Nike will be releasing their own tribute to baseball legend Jackie Robinson and the boundaries he broke with the release of the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Jackie Robinson”.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sneaker features a color palette of Midnight Navy, Obsidian, Sail, Metallic Gold, and Gum Light Brown. It’s primarily made of soft suede; the shoe also features other premium materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Several additional details portray further tributes to Robinson and his legacy. There’s a patch on the tongue’s pull-tab bearing the number “42”\u2014Robinson’s jersey number. On the insole are patches promoting Jackie Robinson Day on 15 April 2024 to further highlight Robinson’s accomplishments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Other details include metallic eyelets and dubrae. Completing the entire aesthetic and providing a celebratory aura are two sets of laces which have gold tips.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Nike Air Max 1 ’86 “Jackie Robinson” will be launced on 1 April 2024 at select Nike retailers, both in-store and online at Nike.com. It’s exclusively available in men’s sizing; a pair costs US$150.<\/p>\n\n\n
