TCG Booster Pack Release: 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II

Following the success of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game (TCG) 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection, Konami is about to put out an equally hype-filled sequel: the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II. They’ve made some tweaks to the system to maximize the user experience while keeping all the best parts as they are.

Increased “Luxury Rare” Pull Chances

Every pack in the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II has double the number of Ultra and Secret Rares. This means that buyers have a twofold chance to pull a Quarter Century Secret Rare, Platinum Secret Rare, Prismatic-style Collector’s Rare, or Prismatic-style Ultimate Rare—the much-coveted “luxury rare” cards.

Packs in this collection feature a reduction in packaging. On top of the environmental benefits, this means that buyers will need to open fewer packs for the same number of cards. Not only that—since there are thus more cards in each pack, expect around two in three packs to have at least one “luxury rare” card.

Approximately one-third of the packs will have multiple “luxury rare” cards—and some could even have up to six!

What to Expect From This Set

Each of the 79 cards in this set comes in one of seven different rarities. In addition to the four “luxury” rarities already mentioned, cards in the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II may also come in Super Rare, Ultra Rare, or Secret Rare.

In particular, keep an eye out for Prismatic-style Collector’s Rares and Prismatic-style Ultimate Rares. Prior to the release of this collection, such cards would only have been available in Japan. The release of the 25th Anniversary Rarity Collection II thus marks the international introduction of cards of those rarities.

Here’s a breakdown of the cards that come in each pack:

2 Secret Rares (each with an individual 1-in-4 chance of an upgrade to a Platinum Secret Rare or Quarter Century Secret Rare)
4 Ultra Rares (each with an individual 1-in-6 chance of an upgrade to a Prismatic-style Collector’s Rare or Prismatic-style Ultra Rare)
3 Super Rares

And a preview of some possible pulls from this set:

Field Spell Cards from the competitive “Visas Starfrost” story Decks: (Primitive Planet Reichphobia, Primeval Planet Perlereino, Pressured Planet Wraitsoth, and Peaceful Planet Calarium)

Rare and highly powerful cards such as Magicians’ Souls and Accesscode Talker—great for collectors and players alike

Cards featuring variant art; these include Rescue Cat, I:P Masquerena, and Apollousa, Bow of the Goddess

Rare versions of multiple tournament staples

Buying Yu-Gi-Oh!
