Sneaker Details<\/a><\/p>\n

During the SS23 fashion shows, there was a deluge of sneaker collaborations, with some particularly buzzy ones<\/a>. Then, there was also an unannounced collab that almost went under the radar\u2014Yohji Yamamoto x adidas Superstar.<\/p>\n

Yohji Yamamoto and adidas aren’t strangers to collaborating, but this is not your regular Y3 or a YY sub-brand collaboration. Confirmed by the Japanese label to be part of its main line offering, this marks one of the rare times an adidas sneaker has appeared on YY’s main runway.<\/p>\n

Amidst a sea of black clothes (a YY trademark), the sneakers stood out with their expansive silhouettes. The Yohji Yamamoto x adidas Superstar sneakers have been given an exaggerated outsole that, when seen up-close, is the shell toe of the Superstar expanded and hollowed out in the middle.<\/p>\n

Upper-wise, the classic design remains unchanged with a leather upper featuring Three Stripes, while Yohji Yamamoto branding can be spotted on the midsole. On top of the traditional Superstar silhouette, there is also a zip-up bootie version that obscures the laces.<\/p>\n

The Yohji Yamamoto x adidas Superstar comes in a mix of Black and White, and will launch in early 2023.<\/p>\n
