Sean McDowell’s brainchild, the Nike Air Max Plus first broke ground in 1998. Its iconic wavy TPU overlays inspired by the gentle sway of palm trees McDowell saw dancing in the breeze during a Florida vacation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But its also momentous for being the first runner to incorporate the hallmark Tuned Air system, an innovative cushioning system that uses two polymer hemispheres to absorb impact.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Nike is commemorating the milestone with a special rendition of the silhouette.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The titular pair features a gradating palette akin to that of the Patta x Nike Air Max Plus \u201cFC Barcelona\u201d<\/a>, save for the imprint reminiscent of ruffled paper. Rounding out its celebratory release, pairs will be housed in a custom shoebox that narrates the shoe’s history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There isn’t a firm release date disclosed but the Nike Air Max Plus \u201c25th Anniversary\u201d will drop sometime in 2023, with a price tag of US$185. Stay tuned for more details to emerge in the coming weeks!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
