Just as much as he enjoys colorful palettes, Sean Wotherspoon is also a big advocate for sustainability. Calling himself a “plant-based designer”, Wotherspoon has always tried to incorporate vegan materials in his designs, most notably in his recent adidas ventures<\/a>. Taking to his Instagram, he has revealed another adidas Gazelle in the works: one that is made with mushroom leather.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Upon first glance, the new Sean Wotherspoon x adidas Gazelle does indeed look like a mushroom. While he hasn’t gone into details about its construction, it’s likely that the material in question is made from mycelium, the root-like structure of mushrooms. It covers the entirety of the Gazelle’s woven upper, painted in orange, blue, and white.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just like the duo’s previous works, co-branding appears on the tongue, while SW’s branding takes on the heel. The sole unit also comes in what looks like recycled materials, adding to the designer’s ethos. There’s even greater news for fans: Wotherspoon also revealed that these should ‘drop in a month or two or maybe less’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
