This season, Kyrie Irving seems to think Low-tops are the way to go. He’s been playing in the Kyrie Low 4, while Nike has begun to release the new Kyrie Low 5 in an ever-increasing range of colourways. Though the Kyrie Low 5 has not seen the huge variety that the Low 4 did, Nike recently revealed official photos of “Light Madder Root\/Bright Spruce” and “Bred” colourways on the Low 5, indicating an increased focus on this new line.<\/p>\n

The Kyrie Low 5 is full of contrasts between colours and textures. The colour-blocking is intense, with the outer frame of the upper coloured differently from the centre. Translucent textured fabric partially obscures a contrasting leather for foot lockdown (dark mahogany on “Light Madder Root\/Bright Spruce”, white on “Bred”). Corduroy-like material covers the heel, adding to the already busy mix.<\/p>\n

Both colourways have been seen before on other Nike models, with “Bred” being most commonly seen on other basketball court shoes. The multitude of different shades spread themselves nicely over the Kyrie Low 5 and highlight the silhouette’s design lines. The shoes are also dotted with details relating to the NBA star himself, such as the triangles (another Illuminati reference?<\/a>) and other symbols planted around the design. The date “04-12-2021” can be seen on the inside of the tongue of “Bred”, which likely hints towards a significant date in Kyrie’s life. A Nike Zoom sole unit complete with Kyrie’s logo and patterned tread adds responsiveness on the court and completes the look.<\/p>\n
