The BSTN x adidas Forum ’84 “Panathinaikos” and “Jugoplastika” are the two newest additions to BSTN’s European Basketball Heritage Series<\/a>. The Hamburg-based boutique began this Heritage Series in late 2020, which met praise for the way its offerings paid homage to basketball icons through minute, deliberate details. BSTN’s attention to detail has not changed for their newest release, which is based on two EuroLeague basketball champions, Panathinaikos B.C.<\/a> from Greece and Jugoplastika Split<\/a> from Croatia.<\/p>\n

At first glance, BSTN clearly used the two teams’ logos heritage colours in their respective shoes (green on the Forum ’84 Low “Panathinaikos”, gold and black on the Forum ’84 High “Jugoplastika”). However, upon further examination subtle details come to light: embroidered six stars on the “Panathinaikos” represent the team’s record six EuroLeague championship wins, while a “8990” heel loop label on the “Jugoplastika” comes straight from the team’s historical branding.<\/p>\n

The Forum ’84 Low “Panathinaikos” uses a mixture of leather and suede across the upper, features the team’s deep green colours on an ankle logo, heel stripe, inner lining, tongue loop label and team branding within the Forum 84’s strap. An eye-catching dark green mesh-like pattern on the inner midsole and gum rubber outsole with marble-like patterns completes the look.<\/p>\n

The Forum ’84 High “Jugoplastika” features the same mixture of leather and suede textures on the upper as well as the same sole unit with mesh patterns on the midsole and marble patterns on the gum rubber outsole. However, it trades deep green for black and gold, making for an aesthetically pleasing mix of white, black and gold. It also features Jugoplastika Split team branding along the ankle.<\/p>\n

Both pairs are impressive in how they pay homage to the long history of the two teams, and through this, give a respectful nod to the rich culture of European basketball. The Forum ’84 Low “Panathinaikos” released in Europe through BSTN and adidas CONFIRMED on 7 May, and released worldwide on 14 May. Meanwhile, the Forum ’84 High “Jugoplastika” released in Europe on 21 May, and will undergo global release on 28 May. More details below.<\/p>\n
