[Update 14 Jul 2023] New images of the Nike KD 16 “Aunt Pearl” have just emerged. It largely differs from what was seen earlier. In contrast to the first, this new design sees a more imposing hot pink that addresses the lower part of the shoe, as well as the rose motif on the tongue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There aren’t any details attached to the photos so stay tuned for more updates!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The series of “Aunt Pearl” designs began in 2012 with the Nike KD 4, and has carried on to now with the KD 16. The special colorway was introduced to honor Kevin Durant’s beloved aunt who lost her fight with lung cancer in 2000. Not only is the pair a tribute, but it also supports the Kay Yow Cancer Fund.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Much like its predecessors in the series, eye-catching pink hues engulf the entire shoe. White trimming adds a subtle contrast, while hot pink embellishments on the medial TPU plate and heel branding give the sneaker a dynamic pop of color. The KD 16 model features an engineered mesh upper for breathability, leather overlays for durability, and a cushioned Zoom-infused sole unit for comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The photos are leaks shared by @kd_features<\/a> thus the limited view. But the insoles are likely decorated with allusions to Aunt Pearl, and housed in a unique packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They’re expected to drop sometime in October in line with the start of the new NBA season. Stay tuned for more details and images in the coming months!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
