The collaborative sneaker was previewed first at Sole Superior in Singapore last November, before being unveiled to Indonesian audiences at Jakarta Sneaker Day in February 2023.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the sample pairs encased in a locked display, they were stolen. The ensuing kerfuffle inadvertently gave the shoes an unexpected buzz and notoriety. Saint Barkley and Sole Superior offered a prize for any help in their recovery, and taking it in stride even praised the thief for having “Terrific Taste, Terrible Ethics”. The shoes were never recovered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fortunately, history won’t have to repeat itself with the shoes receiving an official release on 9 July. Limited to only 500 pairs, the sneakers will be availed in-store at Saint Barkley HQ in Bandung, and online exclusively on Saint Barkley\u2019s Shopee SG store.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inspired by the popularity of \u2018Scratch N Sniff\u2019 stickers of the 1980s, some of the the SB x SS sneaker’s notable highlights include the bubblegum scented tongue that discharges a scent when coming in contact with the wearer\u2019s foot; the peach suede upper with light reflective stitching; and the vulcanised white rubber midsole with Saint Barkley\u2019s trademark volt green sole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

They’ll also include three exclusive SB x SS air fresheners, and will be housed in an action figure\/clear window shoebox packaging.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In keeping the shoes accessible to as many skaters and sneakerheads, the pair will retail at an affordable SG$66. The release will also be accompanied by a complementary apparel capsule of a t-shirt, cap, and coach jacket\u2014likewise in limited numbers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In other sneaker-related news, ASICS Skateboarding is expected to debut worldwide soon<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
