[Update 29 Apr 2023] Official images of the once-upon-a-time de facto Kobe Bryant signature have emerged. The Huarache has a storied history of its own but one of its highlight chapters would be its association with the Black Mamba. This should be a pair for the collectors. A release date hasn’t been disclosed but with these set of images coming to light, there’s reason to be optimistic. Stay tuned!<\/p>\n

\"LINE\"20 years ago, Kobe Bryant infamously entered his “sneaker free agent” era after he left adidas. During that time, Bryant put on a variety of basketball brands on his feet, but none more prevalent than his future home: Nike. One of the Player Exclusives he wore was the Nike Air Huarache PE “Lakers Away”, which was never seen again until now.<\/p>\n

Set for a comeback in 2023 amidst ongoing speculations about the resumption of Bryant’s signature Nike shoe lines, the brand has perhaps taken a step forward with confirmation of the first-ever retail release of the Air Huarache PE “Lakers Away”.<\/p>\n

While only a few images of the shoe have surfaced, it’s expected that it will follow closely to its 2004 predecessor. Black nubuck makes up most of the upper’s construction, while hints of the Los Angeles Lakers’ iconic purple and yellow accentuate the underlying layers.<\/p>\n
