Kiki Rice Breaks in the Nike Air Jordan 38; Dropping on 25 Aug
The 38 looks past 30 of its predecessors, taking cues from the 8.
[Update 21 Aug 2023] Following our previous update on the Nike Air Jordan 38 “Fundamental”, the pair is now said to arrive on 25 August via select Nike and Jordan retailers. In the meantime, stay tuned here for more updates on the other colorways.
[Update 3 Jul 2023] Official campaign photos of the Nike Air Jordan 38 have arrived. Alongside the “Fundamental”, which is slated to drop on 18 August as previously purported, two new colorways have also been announced: a “FIBA” look on 7 September and a women’s exclusive “Center Star” on 25 September.
[Update 23 Jun 2023] Official images of the Nike Air Jordan 38 “Fundamental” have now surfaced. Take a look at them on the article slider above and expect the pair to arrive on 18 August via Nike and select retailers with a retail price of US$200.
[Update 4 May 2023] New images of the Nike Air Jordan 38 have emerged, courtesy of @kicksdong. Apparently now titled “Fundamental”, a release date have yet to emerge but it should arrive within the coming months, probably in the NBA off season.
[Update 28 Mar 2023] UCLA freshman, Jordan Brand’s first-ever NIL signee, Kiki Rice had both the honor and burden of breaking in the incoming Air Jordan 38 during a game against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Seen for the first time, the AJ38 sees a white base layer with a perforated fabric dressing the shoe on its profile, up to the collar. Wherein the midsoles sees hits of red along with sail panels.
These are just what’s discernible from the leaks. When the official images do arrive, best believe you’ll see it here.
Nearly 40 years after it all began, the forebears continue to inspire their successors. The Nike Air Jordan 8 celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and in lieu, serves as influence to the latest in the central Jordan line: the titular 38.
There’re no images just yet but details of the three colorways have emerged: The “Light Marine” colorway is purported to feature—in addition—a palette of Astronomy Blue, and Royal Pulse; the “University Red”, joined by White, Black, and Metallic Gold; the last is believed to be derivative of the 8’s famous “Playoff” and “Aqua” colorways, and will arrive in Black, True Red, Bright Concord, and Aquatone.
Information is scant at the time of writing though word has it that the pair will debut sometime in the fall or holiday season. With that said, it’s unlikely to see them in action until the next NBA season. If it’s any consolation, the model will be available in full-family sizing with adult pairs going for US$200, and grade school for US$140.
When the powers that be says so, product images or at least some leaks should emerge soon.
