First Look: Nike Calm Slides
Nike joins the foam slides game with five colorways.
[Update 13 Jun 2023] Looks like we are seeing a release of the Nike Calm Slides, but only for the “Black” and “Geode Teal” colorways. They will drop on 15 June via Nike retailers and we can expect the remaining pairs to arrive in the coming months. Until then, we will keep you updated.
With rival brands such as adidas and Crocs dominating the market with their foam slides over the past few years, it’s no surprise that the Swoosh brand is reportedly looking to join in on the action courtesy of @soleretriever on Instagram. The alleged Nike Calm slides are expected to release in Fall this year, at a retail price of US$50.
The new open-toe sandals comes with no frills attached. Noting a minimalistic aesthetic, the Calm Slide comes dressed in five colorways, namely “Sail”, “Black”, “Sesame”, “Geode Teal”, and a women’s exclusive “Jade Ice”. The overall construction of the slip-ons seems to be a one-piece EVA foam material, with a molded-on upper band that provides a comfy and snug fit.
Let’s address the elephant in the room though—yes, there’s an uncanny resemblance to the infamous Yeezy Slides. It certainly seems like the Swoosh brand is looking to take advantage and fill in the gap left behind by the recent fall-out between adidas and Ye.
In the meantime, you can enjoy a closer look at the five colorways of the upcoming Nike Calm Slides via top slider above. We’ll be sure to update here once we receive updates regarding the release.
