Rokit x Vans Looks Back to the Roots of Their Culture
With hidden messages distinct to Downtown LA.
Taking inspirations from skateboarding and street basketball subcultures, streetwear label Rokit offers a contemporary aesthetic approach to the sports with every releases. Partnering up with Vans, the duo looks to Rokit’s home base Downtown Los Angeles for their latest capsule collection to signify the influences of their culture.
Arriving in three silhouettes – Old Skool, Sk8-Hi and Half Cab, the collection introduces a muted color palette, with co-branded translucent rubber outsoles equipped to the bottom. Layered textures are found on the upper with the use of suede materials, while checkerboard panels fills the sides in the form of patches and linings. On the shoe tongue, a collaboration logo label is attached to finish off the details.
With messages distinct to Downtown LA hidden among the details, the collaboration looks to Rokit’s history and brand DNA with Vans playing a part of the former’s birth.
Retailing at $85 a pair, the Rokit x Vans collection is now available via Bam Barcena and selected retailers globally.
