Human Made launches its newest brand, “Buffer,” appointing Tetsu Nishiyama—from WTAPS—as its Creative Director and opening its first flagship store in Shibuya. This new initiative is built on the concept of being a “buffer”—a literal cushion or space that connects various generations and cultures. By delivering “authentic” pieces at price points reminiscent of the ’80s and ’90s, the brand aims to lower the barrier for everyone to enter and enjoy streetwear culture. About Buffer 1st Collection
The highly anticipated inaugural drop will feature four T-shirt designs alongside a curated selection of souvenir goods. Moving away from the recent industry obsession with oversized, boxy silhouettes, Buffer introduces an original T-shirt body. The lineup includes four distinct graphics, such as “Buffy”—a rabbit character illustrated by Yuji Kamiyama—and a nostalgic “ばっふぁ” (Buffer) logo written in Japanese Hiragana, all available in classic white and black colorways.
The souvenir collection captures the retro-cool essence of ’90s American gift shops, offering items like socks, buttons, and pins. These accessories are also expected to be available at accessible price points, staying true to the brand’s mission.
This first collection will be released on 25th April 2026, coinciding with the doors opening at their new Jinnan location.
