New Balance is tapping into the growing demand for low-profile, thin-soled sneakers in women’s fashion, a trend it helped ignite with its Miu Miu 530L collaboration. Recognizing that the over US$1,000 price tag of those sneakers is out of reach for most, New Balance has introduced the more accessible and affordable 204L model.

About the New Balance 204L “Timberwolf”

This particular rendition features a sleek, monochromatic cream palette across its multi-paneled suede upper. 204L branding is subtly placed on the lateral heel, with additional New Balance references appearing on the vamp, tongue tag, and insole.

The sneaker’s ’70s-inspired running upper sits atop a slender foam midsole, also in a tonal cream. Completing the design is a dotted rubber outsole that draws its traction pattern and aesthetic from both ’70s and early 2000s running shoe designs.

Release Details

The New Balance 204L “Timberwolf” is set to release on 13 August 2025, and will be available through New Balance’s official channels and select online and in-store retailers. It will be offered in men’s sizing with a retail price of US$110.
