Nike KD 4 “Texas Longhorns” [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
Many consider the KD 4 "Texas Longhorns" iteration to be the most iconic of the KD line.
Just when collectors thought the Nike KD 4 retro series was wrapping up, Nike Basketball is delivering another highly anticipated release. The iconic KD 4 “Texas”, also known as “Longhorns”, which first debuted in 2012, is confirmed to return in 2025. This exciting news was part of Nike’s recent SNKRS product preview.
About the Nike KD 4 “Texas Longhorns”
Drawing inspiration from Kevin Durant’s time at the University of Texas, the sneaker boasts a striking “Desert Orange” and white color scheme, directly reflecting the Texas Longhorns’ palette. The vibrant “Desert Orange” dominates the shoe, with crisp white accents appearing on the midsole, heel, and Swooshes. A standout feature, just like the original, is the white Longhorns logo prominently displayed on the tongue, a testament to Texas’s long-standing sponsorship by Nike.

Kevin Durant’s single season at the University of Texas was nothing short of legendary. As the #2 overall draft pick, he made an indelible mark, earning both the National Freshman of the Year and Big 12 Player of the Year awards in the 2006-2007 season, along with consensus First Team All-American honors. His alma mater has frequently been celebrated throughout his signature Nike Basketball line, with “Texas” themed colorways appearing on the KD 3 and KD 6, though many consider the KD 4 iteration to be the most iconic.
