Paradox Rift [PAR] is a set which has recently seen the prices of several of its cards climb rapidly. One such card is the Illustration Rare version of the Minun card—partially due to the card’s imagery and partially due to how it combines with its counterpart card.

About Minun (Paradox Rift [PAR] 194/182)

This card’s Full Art illustration shows Minun in the midst of a tantrum, waving its arms frantically as its palms glow blue with electricity. In the background, a person can be seen sitting on the couch; that person is likely Minun’s exasperated Trainer who’s frustrated at all the noise. The layer of holofoil adds further visual impact; it provides the visual impression that sunlight is streaming into the room through the window.

Additionally, when this card is paired with its counterpart, the Plusle card from the same set, a combined illustration is formed. The combined illustration shows that on the other side of the room, Plusle is trying to cheer Minun up. It’s for this reason that both cards’ values have risen almost in unison; usually, those who buy one of the pair will also be interested in the other.

In Japanese, this card is card 066/062 from Raging Surf [SV3a].
