This latest addition to the Swoosh’s seminal “super shoe” catalog draws direct inspiration from the brand’s 1970s archive, specifically referencing the original Nike Sting performance runner. The connection is most evident in the shoe’s green and orange color palette, a nod to the nylon build of its predecessor.

The Nike AlphaFly 3 “The Sting” continues the tradition of melding Nike’s running pedigree with contemporary technology. The signature D-ring eyelets from the original are absent, but the design pays homage to the era with pre-aged cushioning and classic color blocking. The silhouette itself serves as a hybrid between the Vaporfly and the Pre-Montreal, offering a balance of max-cushioning and vintage aesthetics.

Release Details

Set for release as part of Nike’s Fall 2025 lineup, the Nike ZoomX AlphaFly 3 “The Sting” will be available on Nike’s brick-and-click and select retailers, carrying a retail price of US$295.
