[Update 4 July 2022] Union x Nike Cortez Un-Cortez collection is back with two latest colorways, “Smoke Grey” and “Yellow Frost”. Official debut date for the duo has yet to be announced. However, official images of both pairs of sneakers have surfaced. Both pairs’ feature bright and bold color schemes with supple suede overlays atop the Baja pattern on the textile base. The looks are completed by Crater Foam midsoles and Nike Grind outsoles which both are partially made from recycled rubber. [Update 27 Jun 2022] After selling out the Union x Nike Cortez Un-Cortez “Sesame” on Union’s website on 21 June, Nike has confirmed that the collaborative shoe is releasing again on June 28 via SNKRS for US$130. The Union x Nike Cortez Un-Cortez “Off-Noir” will remain to retail for US$150. Scroll down to find the link to SNKRS to cop yours!

[Update 20 Jun 2022] With the UNION x Nike collaboration dropping in a day’s time, the brand has released official images of the anticipated “Off-Noir” colorway. Closer looks reveal details such as speckled soles, woven green laces and UNION x Nike co-branding on a cork-like insoles. The upper also features panels with striped blue/green shades, giving the black shoe a retro look. Viewed from the back, we see that UNION’s Frontman logo makes an appearance on the heel in a bright neon green. For more pictures, keep scrolling!

[Update 16 Jun 2022] Official details of the UNION LA x Nike collaboration have finally been released! This Un-Cortez collection strays from the usual Cortez look by mixing canvas and suede on the upper. Four colorways are made available in this collection, with “Sesame” and “Off-Noir” kicking off the collection on 21 June 2022.

“Sesame” is a mix of browns and pinks that give off cheerful and bright look. On the other hand, “Off-Noir” offers a chic blend of black and blues. Branding each Cortez is UNION’s icons, such as the Frontman and “UN/LA” tabs. Co-branding is also found on the tongue and heels, where both Nike and UNIION’s logos are prominently featured. Legendary American boutique UNION and Nike are coming together to redesign the Nike Cortez!

UNION is a boutique store that opened in Soho, New York in 1989 with support from Supreme’s founder James Jabbia. The store offers a curated selection of caps and T-shirts from indie designers to brands that were just starting to gain momentum at the time, such as Supreme and Stussy. Due to their refined and honed tastes that aligned with much of the street community, it became a popular destination.

This time, UNION will collaborate with Nike on the Nike Cortez, one of Nike’s most popular sneakers. The upper is made of suede and canvas, with details like the “UN/LA” pseudonym and cork insole. Also the shoes have been leaked in two colors, Beige and black.
