Various Artists x fragment design x Converse Jack Purcell 1935 [Release Date/Price/Where To Buy]
Succeeding their Chuck 70 project in late 2024.
fragment design (FRGMT) and Tokyo’s Various Artists are teaming up once again with Converse for a new tripartite collaboration, this time reworking the quintessential Jack Purcell model. Following their Chuck 70 project in late 2024, Hiroshi Fujiwara and his team are employing a similarly understated MO to this newest release.
About the Various Artists x fragment design x Converse Jack Purcell 1935
While FRGMT’s collaborations with Jordan Brand are known for their strong Royal Blue accents and color blocking, their Converse projects lean towards a more restrained aesthetic. The Jack Purcell arrives in a predominantly black canvas upper, highlighted by white contrast stitching—a detail that echoes previous FRGMT x Converse and Moncler x Converse partnerships.

Branding is subtle yet precise: the “Various Artists” text appears on the lateral profile, while the VA and FRGMT logos occupy real estate on the heel tab. A stitched white rectangle on the lateral side and green insoles with triple co-branding complete the look.

For those less familiar, the Jack Purcell silhouette was designed in 1935 by Canadian badminton champion Jack Purcell and was later acquired by Converse in the 1970s. The shoes out for their straighter collar, layered rubber toe cap, and a smoother, line-free midsole, differentiating it from the classic All-Star.
