The journey that started 8 months ago has concluded, and the Oklahoma City Thunder (OKC) have secured the 2025 NBA Championship, marking a historic milestone for the franchise.

After finishing the regular season with the best record in the league at 68-14, OKC capped off their season by defeating the Indiana Pacers 103-91 in a decisive Game 7 at home, at the Paycom Center in Oklahoma City. This championship represents the franchise’s first NBA title since 1979, when the team was still known as the Seattle SuperSonics.

Led by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who earned the NBA Finals MVP honors with 29 points, 12 assists, and five rebounds in the final game, the young team demonstrated a blend of elite defense, lightning offense, and exceptional team chemistry throughout their playoff run.

Key contributions also came from Jalen Williams and Chet Holmgren, which helped the team overcome formidable opponents, including the Memphis Grizzlies, Denver Nuggets, and Minnesota Timberwolves, en route to the championship.

This achievement signifies a transformation for the Thunder, which was once seen—not too long ago—as a rebuilding team, but is now emerging as a potential new dynasty in the NBA.
