Vans is paying heartfelt homage to the late Japanese manga artist Momoko Sakura with a vibrant new collection that brings her beloved characters to life in style. Inspired by her iconic works—Chibi Maruko-chan and Coji-Coji—the lineup features playful sneakers and apparel designed to delight fans of all ages.

About the Momoko Sakura x Vans Collection

For Chibi Maruko-chan enthusiasts, there are three standout shoe models: the Old Skool, which pairs Maruko’s expressive face with Vans’ classic checkerboard pattern and comes with adorable rabbit and cat charms for the laces; the Authentic, covered in a lively print of Maruko and her classmates; and the Slip-On, showcasing a world map illustration from Sakura’s endpapers.

Coji-Coji fans aren’t left out, with an Old Skool sneaker featuring the colorful character on the side panel, plus two Slip-Ons—one with a cheeky checkerboard pattern hiding a mischievous “otan konasu,” and another with comic-inspired graphics.

Apparel includes four T-shirts, each with Maruko on a skateboard or Coji-Coji spouting his famous sayings on the back, and a subtle collaboration logo on the front. The collection is rounded out with fun accessories like Slip-On-shaped keychains and paisley bandanas featuring both characters.

Release Details

Set to launch on 4 July at Vans stores and select retailers, this collaboration is a joyful celebration of Momoko Sakura’s creative legacy and timeless charm.
