Originally released as part of fifth-generation Pokémon TCG set Dragon Blast [BW5], Mew ex received a reprint featuring all-new artwork later in the generation as part of Shiny Collection [SC]. Today, it’s one of the most valuable and sought-after Gen 5 cards.

About Mew ex (Shiny Collection [SC] 024/020)

Visually, there’s not actually all that much to be said. The card’s illustration is a fairly generic Full Art illustration in front of a background dotted with several sparkles. The value of this Super Rare (SR) card is primarily carried by Mew’s popularity as well as the high rarity of the card.

In addition, part of this card’s recently renewed appeal comes from the fact that Black Bolt [SV11B] and White Flare [SV11W], a dual set paying tribute to Pokémon’s fifth generation. As such, there’s now more attention placed upon Gen 5 and its standout cards such as this one.

The English version of this card is card RC24/RC25 from Legendary Treasures.

A copy of a Mew ex (Shiny Collection [SC] 024/020) card sells for 150,000 JPY (~US$1,038).
