Part of a new variant of the Green Bonney deck, the Urouge card from 500 Years in the Future [OP-07] has proven to be a key addition to the deck’s new setup. It’s one of the deck’s main anti-aggression cards, preventing the deck’s most important cards from suffering the full brunt of opposing attacks.

About Urouge (500 Years in the Future [OP-07] OP07-021)

The most important quality of the Urouge card is its Blocker effect which allows it to take the hit in place of the original target of the opponent’s attack after the player rests it. This can therefore be used to protect the cards which the player will need later on; for this reason, it’s usually paired with the Carrot card from Two Legends [OP-08] which also enhances the deck’s defensive capabilities. In addition, this card allows for DON!! ramping; as long as it’s in play, the player can set a DON!! card as active at the end of the turn.

While multiple versions of this card have been released, the one which is of the highest value is the Rare Special (R-SPC) iteration. This reprinted version was released at the same time as expansion set Royal Blood [OP-10]—almost a year after the card debuted.
