Technical Machine: Devolution is a Pokémon Tool card which can be used either offensively or defensively. As such, it’s a card which has found its way into a wide range of Pokémon TCG decks.

About Technical Machine: Devolution Poké Ball Mirror (Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] 161/187)

The Pokémon to which Technical Machine: Devolution is attached gains access to the Devolution attack. When that attack is used, the opponent is forced to devolve all evolved Pokémon; the card representing the highest stage of each evolved Pokémon in play is returned to the opponent’s hand. This can either be used to pick up or set up KOs by reducing the HP of a damaged opposing Pokémon by devolving it, or to burn up the opponent’s resources by devolving a Pokémon that was evolved directly into a Stage 2 from a Basic.

The reprint of Technical Machine: Devolution from Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] comes in a Poké Ball Mirror print. It features a Poké Ball print on its lower half with a “cracked ice” holofoil pattern behind it. The card’s illustration portrays a mysterious energy surrounding the Technical Machine itself, indirectly alluding to its unusual power of devolving the opponent’s Pokémon.

Release Details

Although an English version of this card does exist, it isn’t the Poké Ball Mirror iteration.

The price of a Technical Machine: Devolution Poké Ball Mirror (Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] 161/187) card is relatively low at just 440 JPY (~US$3) per copy.
