The UEFA Champions League Final is on the horizon, and domestic football leagues are concluding. Shifting focus to the African continent, the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) is set to commence on 21 December in Morocco, where 24 national teams will compete for the prestigious title of Africa’s top football nation. This edition marks Morocco’s second time hosting the tournament, the first since 1988, and will run through 18 January 2026.

In conjunction with this marquee sporting event, Nike is reportedly preparing a special edition Air Max Plus.

About the AFCON x Nike Air Max Plus

The news was broken by @BubbleKoppe on Instagram, following the brand’s notable Tuned Air concepts. Nike’s recent sponsorship of the Homecoming Festival in Lagos, Nigeria, further highlights its growing engagement with African culture and markets.

The AFCON x Air Max Plus will feature a color palette inspired by the Confederation of African Football’s official logo, incorporating White, Black, Kelly Green, and University Red.

The design will likely include co-branding elements referencing the tournament, which will be hosted across six Moroccan cities and nine stadiums and culminate in the final at Rabat’s Complexe Sportif Prince Moulay Abdellah.

Release Details
