Booster packs from upcoming Pokémon TCG dual set Black Bolt [BLK] and White Flare [WHT] will not be sold individually; they’ll only be available as part of related products. Among them are the Black Bolt / White Flare Elite Trainer Boxes which, in addition to booster packs, also include one of two promotional cards of which one is this Thundurus card.

About Thundurus (SVP Black Star Promos 209)

This card is a homage to the Thundurus card from Gen 5 set Emerging Powers—apt because Black Bolt [BLK] and White Flare [WHT] are “nostalgia bait” sets which specifically cater to Pokémon fans who grew up with Gen 5. Its Disaster Volt attack is taken directly from that card; this card can itself be considered a new version of that card adjusted for powercreep.

In addition to the nostalgia factor, this card has an appealing Full Art illustration depicting the Incarnate Forme of the Electric/Flying-type Legendary Pokémon unleashing that same Disaster Volt attack. The card’s holofoil further enhances the visual, making the lightning bolt that Thundurus is shooting out appear more realistic.

Release Details

The Japanese version of this card will be card 120/086 from Black Bolt [SV11B].

The sale price of a Thundurus (SVP Black Star Promos 209) card will only be known once it starts being sold on the open market.
