Air Jordan 1 Low Craft “Navy” Joins the “Inside Out” Series

The Air Jordan 1 revolves around an orbit of its own. In the sneakersphere, the late Peter Moore’s brainchild is omnipresent, enjoying an unparalleled ubiquity. It’s got the benefit of an exalted narrative and a timeless design, that with the plethora of Jordan 1 iterations in the 37 years of its existence, Nike might even have its own division just for the model.

Preceded by a Sail and Greyscale iterations, a new “Navy” colorway joins the deconstructionist “Inside Out” series; although this seems to up the ante by introducing a more varied multi-material construction. Shades of navy operate on the overlays present from the tip upwards, while a suede build is introduced on the collar and mudguard.

Black takes over the quarters below the Swooshes and the toebox—this time introduced in a sheening patent leather. The sole unit keeps it simple by sticking to the blueprint while deviations take place above. Not a Jordan 1 staple but this iteration carries on the design decision of an exposed tongue and lining in the series. Finishing off the pair is the application of reflective 3M panels on the Jumpman logo on the tongue, eyestays, and spine—hitherto unseen in the pack.

There’s nothing concrete but a release is expected within the coming months with a price tag of US$120.

Elsewhere exists a contemporary iteration of the AJ1s. Check out the reintroduction of the Jordan Nu Retro 1, with Jayson Tatum paying an homage to his hometown.
