Colm Dillane, the creative force behind KidSuper, is experiencing a significant “full circle” moment. Before establishing his influential and rising menswear brand after attending the Fashion Institute of Technology, Dillane honed his skills by producing unofficial BAPE t-shirts in a friend’s basement. It is, therefore, momentous that KidSuper and BAPE are joining forces for their inaugural collaboration, pulling out all the stops. The BAPE x KidSuper capsule collection will feature both apparel and footwear.

About the BAPE x KidSuper Capsule

To appeal to a younger audience, they’ve enlisted popular streamers Kai Cenat and Ray Hsu as the faces of their campaign. This collection, part of BAPE’s premium BAPE COLLECTIVE tier allowing for deep dives into their archives, features a wide array of clothing, accessories, and, notably, footwear.

The collaboration introduces six variations of the BAPE STA sneaker, including three iterations of the rarely seen, backless BAPE STA mule. KidSuper’s signature face motif is integrated into vibrant BAPE camouflage patterns, also appearing as a cutout within the iconic shooting star logo. Furthermore, two of the three standard BAPE STA pairs are adorned with stitched eye graphics on the toe box and heel areas.

Release Details

The BAPE x KidSuper collection is set to launch on 12 April, exclusively through BAPE and KidSuper retail channels, both in-store and online. While official pricing hasn’t been announced, the sneakers are anticipated to be priced in the US$250-US$300 range.
