Man Arrested Following US$10,000 Burglary of TCG Cards From Virginia Store
This time around, Spider-Man was the villain.
A man has been arrested following the burglary of Gaming Giant, a collectibles store in Fairfax, Virginia, on 16 March 2025. The burglary involved cards of various TCG franchises cumulatively worth approximately US$10,000.
The suspect, since identified as 20-year-old Joel Brown from Silver Spring, Maryland, had previously gone to Gaming Giant as a seemingly ordinary customer asking about certain cards. However, on the night of 16 March, Brown allegedly entered the store dressed in a Spider-Man costume, broke the front door down, and stole around US$10,000 worth of ONE PIECE Card Game, Dragon Ball Super Card Game, and Pokémon TCG items.
According to Gaming Giant’s owners, all items stolen were single cards.
Following the incident, the store shared many photos of the suspect. Brown was identified by local police on 19 March and was subsequently charged with burglary. He was then transported to the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center before being released on an unsecured bond.
