It’s also now known that the English versions of the Starter Sets will be titled “Mega Battle Deck Mega Gengar ex” and “Mega Battle Deck Mega Diancie ex”. They’ll be out on 24 October.

Finally, each Starter Set’s acronym is now known: Starter Set Mega Gengar ex’s is [MBG] while Starter Set Mega Diancie ex’s is [MBD].

The next two pre-constructed decks of the Pokémon TCG’s Starter Set series have now had their release dates finalized. Starter Set Mega Gengar ex and Starter Set Mega Diancie ex are to be launched in Japan on 5 September 2025.

About Starter Set Mega Gengar ex / Starter Set Mega Diancie ex

Both Starter Sets will further lean into the Mega Evolution mechanic which will be returning to the Pokémon TCG in Mega Brave [M1L] and Mega Symphonia [M1S].

Both headliner cards will be the first Mega Gengar and Mega Diancie cards since Gen 6 when they were part of the XY-P Promotional Cards. Additionally, the Mega Diancie ex card will be the first Mega Diancie ex Pokémon TCG card to ever be released.

Starter Set Mega Gengar ex and Starter Set Mega Diancie ex will each sell for 1,800 JPY (~US$12).
