[Update 2 Nov] A wider release on Nike SNKRS haven’t been announced by both parties, but the now renamed Trophy Room x Air Jordan 7 “New Sheriff In Town” will get a pre-release via an in-store raffle at Trophy Room from 3rd November. Entries will be accepted until 8 p.m with winners to be selected by the next day.

Accompanying this piece of news, the pair will also be joined by some apparel offerings: an Olympic-themed windbreaker; a navy blue hoodie and a red t-shirt emblazoned with the iconic candid between Jordan and Johnson; and two dual-branded shorts in the aforementioned Olympic colorway and navy. A price point for any of the items have yet to be announced, but stay tuned!

Summer’s over but things are just starting to heat up for the Air Jordan 7. It’s about to get more time in the sun since speculations about a Travis Scott x Air Jordan 7 started picking up steam last week, and with Marcus Jordan’s Trophy Room following up with one of their own. Rumors of the pair have been travelling the grapevine since late 2021 but it’s finally been ascertained, just in time for the pair’s 30th anniversary this year.

Dressed in an Obsidian, Dark Obsidian, True Red, and Metallic Gold, these AJ7s give nod to some of basketball’s biggest moments, with the 1992 Barcelona Olympics and the legendary Dream Team that dominated it as the focal point.

To begin, the aforementioned colors of the titular pair is a direct reference to the Dream Team’s jersey, topped off with the colors of the Olympic Rings donning the heel tab. Gold plates right below depict the Trophy Room logo on the left pair with “9” on the right, the number Jordan wore for his international appearances. Proximate to it on the laterals is a classy debossing of the namesake’s autograph.

Embroidered on the insoles are imprints of the collaborators’ logos once more with “1992” and “Monte Carlo” encircling them—in reference to the location of the practice facility where the most epic game in history took place, in private, away from the world’s eyes, away from an audience who would’ve killed to see it more than any other game in the past, present, or future.

Call it the most legendary game in history that nobody’s ever seen, save for the anecdotes of the players that actually played it. The Dream Team’s roster consisted of the ’80s best, and their ’90s successors. Jordan himself was quoted saying years later, “It was the greatest game I’ve ever played in.”

Printed on the box and embroidered on the underside of the tongue are the words “New sheriff in town”. Words MJ announced to the team after the scrimmage, as told by Celtics legend Larry Bird, who played opposite His Airness. Indeed, it was the passing of the torch between the legends of old to the new.

The last bit of detail is the “June 22, 1992” tag tucked into the sock lining; a reference to the Sports Illustrated cover with a feature headline that questioned Jordan and his Bulls’ place among the league’s all-time elite. Inside the special co-branded box is a clipboard and extra laces with golden aglets.

A release date hasn’t been confirmed by any party except for an October 2022 drop. There’s also the possibility it will be produced in limited quantities, and sold exclusively at Trophy Room.

As for news in the status quo, Jayson Tatum debuts the Air Jordan 37 Low during a workout in his alma mater.
