About the COMME des GARÇONS BLACK x Nike Field General 82

Wavy logo motifs, like spectral ripples, intertwine with a “melted” Swoosh. The pair is coded in the brand’s signature black-and-white palette. The Field General 82, a silhouette often lauded for its retro charm, is reimagined, its form transfigured by CDG’s design language.

Nike and BLACK logos engulf the shoe, creating a visual cacophony that somehow coalesces into an artistic statement. Against this backdrop, stark white elements punctuate the design, offering a jarring yet invigorating contrast. This iteration echoes CDG’s earlier reinterpretation of the Field General, most notably the exclusive 2024 “Market Market” edition, where translucent gum soles lent an ethereal quality to the silhouette.
