Since his appointment as ANTA’s Creative Officer, Kyrie Irving has taken the Chinese sportswear giant to a new plateau. As the de facto face of the brand as well, he’s been granted creative carte blanche and it’s been apparent in his ANTA KAI Hélà line, an avenue for him to present his personal motifs and represent his Lakota heritage. Both are most visible in the upcoming ANTA Hela Style “Chief Hélà.”

About the ANTA Hela Style “Chief Hélà”

The ANTA Hela Style is the lifestyle offshoot of his central performance footwear line, while the titular “Chief Hélà” colorway is a nod to his gifted name, “Little Mountain”.

Irving’s roots show through the earthy tones and thoughtful details scattered across the shaggy suede upper, a rich brown landscape, while colorful beaded tassels dance upon the shoe like wind chimes in a sacred grove. The embroidered accents round off the exterior and his logo is intertwined with tribal patterns that enrich the cultural narrative with each stitch.

Moving inside, a geometric print adorns the sock liner, symbolizing unity and the perpetual connection between man and nature. The cream-colored midsole provides a canvas for the upper’s intricate story, while the outsole underfoot promises comfort that can carry you miles.

The ANTA Hela Style “Chief Hélà” is scheduled to arrive on 25 January at select retailers and anta.com. Secure your pair at 11AM (CT) for US$100.
