On a recent statement posted on Twitter, The Pokémon Company International (TPCi) confirmed that a reprint of Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] will soon be on its way. TPCi did not mention the date on which the reprint will arrive.

The statement comes on the back of major supply issues which have beset the upcoming launch of Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] on 17 January 2025. Almost all Pokémon TCG retailers around the world which will be selling Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] products have only been able to receive much less stock than what was requested—a consequence of the almost unprecedented demand for the set.

The release of the statement in and of itself is out of the ordinary as this is the first time that TPCi has confirmed a reprint before the release of a Pokémon TCG set.

In the statement, TPCi said, “(We) are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products and as quickly as possible to acknowledge this (problem). Reprinted products are expected to be available at participating retailers as soon as possible to help ensure more fans receive opportunities to access (Prismatic Evolutions).”

That being said, while the news of the upcoming reprint was understandably well-received by the Pokémon TCG community, many Pokémon fans nonetheless took the opportunity to criticize TPCi as well for their role in causing the product shortage in the first place by allegedly deliberately underprinting Prismatic Evolutions [PRE] to excessively drive up demand and thus hype for the set.
