Grace & Grit: The Ballet-Inspired Taqwa Bint Ali x adidas Originals Collection
A design that marks a powerful collision of aesthetic worlds.
For Paris-based designer Taqwa Bint Ali, joining adidas’ “Always Original” collective in 2022 was just the beginning. Now, she’s taking her creative journey to the next level with her first-ever footwear collaboration for the Trefoil: the Megaride Mary-Jane sneakers.
About the Taqwa Bint Ali x adidas Originals Megaride Mary-Jane
Inspired by the functional elegance of ballet and infused with modern streetwear sensibilities, the Megaride Mary-Jane reimagines classic silhouettes.
Each design features a distinctive Velcro enclosure and tonal silver uppers, with the tongue cleverly removed from the lacing system for a streamlined look. Housed in a custom premium co-branded box, these sneakers recontextualize chunky footwear for a new generation.
Release Details
Priced at 289 SGD (~US$211), the Taqwa Bint Ali x adidas Originals Megaride Mary-Jane officially launches on 22 January 2025 via adidas CONFIRMED and select adidas retailers, including the adidas Brand Centre Orchard and adidas VivoCity Originals stores in Singapore.
Sneakerheads in Paris can get a head start with pre-launches at Dover Street Market Paris on 20 January and at NAKED COPENHAGEN Paris on 21 January.
