Engineered to Perfection: Engineered Garments Reimagines Dr. Martens’ Classic 1461 Shoe
Engineered Garment's clever construction meets Dr. Martens' timeless shoe-making craft in the duo's fifth crossover.
US-based Engineered Garments and England’s Dr. Martens reunite for a capsule collection of two shoes that is dropping today (9 September). The shoes, simply named 1461 Engineered Garments, mark the fifth time the two brands are teaming up.
This time, EG marries its clever construction skills with Dr. Martens’ time-honored shoe-making techniques by implementing a distinctive asymmetrical lacing system. This lopsided lacing design is similar to their last collaborative brogue’s from four years ago, and immediately switches up the entire look of the shoes.
The laces on the 1461 are now pulled all the way to the lateral side and secured by metal D-rings. Colorway-wise, the duo chose fail-proof black leather and “Milkshake” suede for either shoes, giving the shoes a versatile timeless quality.
