Archival silhouettes may be the fuel behind the engine, but it’s innovation that is propelling brands further. Case in point: the adidas ZPONGE, a brand-new silhouette with a midsole technology inspired by the curious biology of—obviously, sponges.

About the adidas ZPONGE

The ZPONGE midsole mimics the sponge’s unique open-cell structure, offering a blend of cushioning and responsiveness. The result is a shoe that not only absorbs impact but also propels the wearer forward with effortless efficiency.

The midsole may be inspired by the ocean’s depths, but the upper embraces a more terrestrial aesthetic, fusing the German legacy brand’s track and field pedigree with contemporary construction. Its robust nylon upper is reinforced with additional padding around the heel and collar.

Release Details

adidas will release two new colorways in Europe on 19 December. The first pairs an “Ice Yellow” upper with a “Focus Blue” midsole, while the second combines a blue upper “Wonder Mauve”. Both are priced at US$130.
