Eevee and all eight of its evolutions received Special Art Rare (SAR) Pokémon-ex iterations in Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] and as was expected, they ended up being the biggest pickups of the set. Glaceon’s Pokémon-ex version is no different; it ranks as one of the newest Pokémon TCG set’s more impressive pulls.

About Glaceon ex (Terastal Festival ex [SV8a] 206/187)

Although Glaceon has been shown to have Terastallized into the Stellar type, its original Ice-type form is clearly alluded to in the background of this Full Art illustration. The use of the icy blue background calls to mind a frigid landscape in which Glaceon ex would fit perfectly. Glaceon ex’s Stellar-type Terastallized version is also worth noting, as is its rarity of SAR—both facts make it one of the set’s obvious standouts.

This card contains a shoutout to a classic Glaceon card—the Glaceon GX card from the seventh-generation set Ultra Moon [SM5M]. Like that card, Glaceon ex has an attack named “Frost Bullet”. Its Euclase attack, meanwhile, has a Grass Energy card as part of its Energy requirement; this references Leafeon, the Eeveelution that Glaceon was revealed alongside back in Pokémon’s fourth generation.

No information about this version of the Glaceon ex card’s English release is yet out.
