A Bathing Ape (BAPE) may be far removed from its zenith, but in the nearly two decades since, it has continued to find relevance within a subset of street culture vultures. Even with its founder, NIGO, having moved on from the brand, BAPE continues to find renewed interest with new eyes coming upon it through its various collaborations, such as the incoming Don Toliver BAPE STA, with another borrowing the “What The” motif of its famous “frenemy”.

This iteration of the silhouette pays homage to the brand’s US retail locations. By incorporating elements from each store’s distinct aesthetic, the shoe creates a polychromatic patchwork that reflects the diversity and energy of American culture. From the sunny hues of Miami’s South Beach to the urban grit of New York City, each panel tells a story. The juxtaposition of various camo patterns and bold colorways creates a dynamic and eclectic aesthetic that is typically BAPE.
